<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">In today’s modern home, hardwood flooring is considered an essential and important part of the overall look and feel of your home. The flooring options available to you are widespread and within each pricing can vary dramatically. So before you go out and buy your hardwood flooring, be sure to keep the following tips in mind. You’ll avoid critical mistake and end up getting what is right for you.<span id="more-81"></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Probably the single most important part of your hardwood flooring search is establishing a budget. If you don’t, you can quickly get sucked into upgrading your options to the next level. This often results in making poor choices and takes money away from other home improvement project you may be thinking about doing.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">1. The location you want to put your hardwood flooring will guide you towards the types of wood you should consider using. Is the location a high trafficked area? Do you have children and/or pets that could damage the floor? </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">2. When planning to change your floors, consider your existing furniture colors and overall theme of your décor. Try to make the hardwood flooring color to the rest of the room so it blends properly.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">3. Be sure to include the entire process of the project including flooring installation. Most times people establish their budget then do not include installation. This causes you to go over your budget or forces you to reconsider your choice and change to a cheaper option.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">4. If you decide to go with a contractor for the job, be sure to thoroughly evaluate multiple flooring contractors. Get references, pictures of sample jobs, proof of insurance, license and organizational memberships. The last thing you can afford is to hire someone who does a poor job or fleeces you of your money.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">5. While we don’t advocate the “cheaper is better” motto of most in today’s time, do take advantage of specials, promotions, and credits. An example would be the recently launched Canadian Home Renovation Tax Credit where you can get a 15% tax credit up to $10,000. This alone is a great way to save on your hardwood flooring project.</span></p>
