Spring Time: Cleaning – Remodeling – Decorating

Use light fabrics to create a new and fresh look. Fabrics such as satin, chiffon or silks can help you achieve that specific look.
6. To produce a bright and new look you can not only change your window treatments but also your floor decoration. Think about changing the carpets and heavy rugs into light and colorful mats.
7. Remodeling your furniture with slipcovers helps not only your budget but brings a hint of new into the room. Slipcovers of different colors and fabrics can be purchased at many furniture stores. If you know how to sow you can buy the fabric at many fabric discount stores and create your own slipcovers. Patterns and ideas are easy to find on the internet. The latter can be very reasonably priced.
8. If you can afford changing some pieces of furniture you can do so by altering your side tables. Choose light colored woods and glass tops. If buying is not an option then you can create a new look for your side tables by adding placemats, runners or throws that match your curtains or the other furniture. If you created your own slipcovers and have to fabric leftover, you could use it to create the runners or placemats for the tables.
9. Modifying your dishware for spring can be a nice way to make over your kitchen! Use bright colors and stylish designs. Check your weekly flyers for specials and ideas. If you have plain colors for your dishware you might want to just buy some plates to create a colourful effect. For example if your dishes are white then buy funky glasses or smaller plates to go on top.
10. If the last 9 ideas are not good enough then one special way to make you home ready for spring would be to buy flowers or plants to accentuate the changing of the new season and bring life to your home.
